I have a 2003 FLHTC with 74000 miles. I have pulled outer and inner primary to replace transmission shift arm that came loose and wore enough it would not tighten up. I am going to replace it with a Baker truss style shift arm. No problems here. Would like to hear recommendations on what else should be looked at and replaced while I have this all apart with the age and mileage I have. Thanks in advance.

How's your drive belt?
...this also requires the swingarm to be pulled..at which point the swingarm bushes should be replaced.

but at least you have the primary off already

I'd also suggest replacing the rear rubber mounts.

 

inner primary bearing?? Check the splines on the shaft it self.

 

I'd replace all bearings & races.
