Anyone try the HD garage door opener kit (the transmitter intalls in the hi/lo beam circuit on the bike and the receiver is hard wired to the door opener). It works, but the other door openers don't work as well due to interference. Curious if anyone has experimented with receiver location?
I've had it on both my bikes. Its a breeze to install and works well, better than my normal remotes. It uses the rolling code technology so security isn't an issue for that and if you leave your bikeoutside they would have to turn it on to activate the opener unlike some of the other do it yourself options out there. You can also buy multiple recievers to use it on more than one door. Also it looks like the reciever can use up to 8 devices if you wanted to add a keypad or other remotes.
my bike came standard with it....i absolutly love it. i give it 5 out of 5 stars...if you got an electric garage door you will love the HD elec garage door opener....its a must have worth every penny...[sm=bounceybounce.gif][sm=goodidea.gif][sm=happy046.gif][sm=smiley20.gif] im sure you get the point.
Did either of you have a problem with interference with your other remotes/loss of range? I also find it to be sensitive to how quickly the hi/lo beam switch is cycled.
I use a Liftmaster remote that is designed to go on a key chain. Three button and I have it on a ring with my key. I clevis hook them to my belt and open the door as I come down the street.
Most openers should have a small remote like this for less than 50$
