Ok. I guess I will have to get mufflers. I was leaning toward the harley tuner because the bike is under warranty, plus if there is an issue they will be able to connect to and modify the tuner. Most dealers don't ave the software to read or adjust the other tuners.

A friend has 2-2 Rineharts on a Heritage. Not sure the model, but I call them shotguns. The thing is too loud for me to ride behind him. Makes my propipe sound quiet.

These are aftermarket parts... if there is an issue with the tune after you put them on, your warranty will not apply, a dealer would only help for a cost.....$$$$$$

Then again, a dealer may not be willing to help, because you have hollowed out mufflers. A lot of dealers don't have in-shop tuners, they just work with HD downloads, I doubt there are any for straight pipes..

If you are going to use Fuelmoto parts, I would get the PowerVision tuner (I have one & love it), then Fuelmoto would be able, and willing, to help you with any tune issues that may arise..... now, or in the future..

I also don't think open mufflers or straight pipes are a good idea. Been there, done that...

Consult Fuelmoto on the hollowed out mufflers/tune issues and follow their advice..

Good luck..!

Are you doing this for power or just for sound?

I installed a Fullsac sport pipe (a stock pipe with the cat removed and ceramic coated). I attached two different dyno runs. One with stock mufflers one with Rhinehart 4". Can you tell which is which?

Wow. I didn't think it would be that much of a difference. Found a good deal on Rinehart slip ons through criagslist that I couldn't pass up. Looks like I will just order parts as I can afford them, then leave them sit until I have everything. I got the stage 1 air cleaner today and pick up the mufflers tomorrow. Sometime over the next few weeks/ months I will order the head pipe and tuner. Thanks for the input folks.

wow look at how those big baffles KILLED low end torque! I could feel a huge difference when I put BCT quiet baffles ahead of my 4" V&H mufflers. Good to see actual proof.

The red graph is the stock mufflers and the blue is the Rhinehart. YMMV.

Ok. I found Rinehart slip ons on CL. I picked them up today. Does anyone have a link for a "how to" decat the head pipe. I will probably do that until the budget for fuel moto is restored.
