Default My 2006 street glide

Just a couple of quick ?'s first i am a kinda tall guy 6'6" to be excat and have a little trouble sitting comfrotablly on my SG got a sundowner seat and it helps set me back a little bit. I think what i would like to do is maybe change hadle bars. i need them to be turned out just a little bit nothing major just so i have to strech for them a bit any suggestions. have not heard of to many people changing handle bars on the touring bikes. second the mirrors on the SG are not very user friendly and i heard of someone that had removed the mirriors and put tweeters in there place and put the mirrirs back on the bars any help thanx Butch

I am 6'3" and put on taller bars (about even with fairing). Removed the stock mirrors and installed a set of harley mirrors a had around. also installed the extend control boards. The bike now fits perfect.

What are you referring to as control boards? I'm 6'2" and find my legs a bit cramped, I was thinking of extending the floor boards.

Default floor boards

Are the floor boards extended forward or outward? If forward, how much? I'm concerned with my feet being to forward to hit the brake quickly and or get my feet in the way of the crash bar.

Softbrake extended shifters. Love mine. Now I can get all of my size 12's in between. I never lift up on the front one. To shift up I push down on the heel shifter, to shift down I push down on the front one. Both are as close to the floorboards as they can be without touching when they are pushed down.

Wally, thats the only thing I dont have yet, I am only 6'3" and with the other stuff I am pretty comfy. Being 6'6" I bet it would help him for sure.

Im 6-2, One thing I did was put the rear pegs (I put floor boards on for the wife) on the highway bar at a lower level with a bit of an inward turn, I ride with my heel on the floor boards (I have the FB extensions too) & toes up on the pegs..it is REAL comfy. I have 12.5 Wild1 black chubby apes with black mirrors on the bars (I filled the mirror holes on the fairing with LOWES black plastic car plugs) & a mustang daytripper seat..i sit IN the bike now...I love it.
