I was looking for an upgrade last season and ran across Milwaukee Boots in a local cycle part store. Awesome fit and comfy...I bought the "Trooper" and can't be more pleased. Zippers make them quick on/off and non-skid sole doesn't slip on slick tar/concrete surfaces. Can wear all day w/no problems: https://www.milwaukeemotorcyclecloth...s/riding-boots
Having recently gone through this, and keeping in mind that boot selection is kind of a personal-what-you-like decision, I checked out a local Harley store, and they has a few boots, but clearly not all that are listed on the website - then went to an army-navy outlet; for me a bit to tactical looking, and finally bought some Bates boots at Workngear at a mall....GL but YMMV
My Chippewa 7" Engineer steel toed boots have been some of best well made and will last you many yrs. I looked few yrs back for something more comfortable at rally's etc where walk a lot. I found the TCX X-Streets foot the bill they look like high top tennis shoe but made of leather and waterproof too. http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/t...terproof-shoes
Several LEO's wear these around here, I wear Danner 8" GTX and I love them for warmer weather, in the cold I wear some older HD Wolverine Gore Tex storm boots.
I purchased these from DK. Love the easy on with the zippers, great traction when maneuvering the Ultra backwards, and it is the only footwear I wore for 10 days straight at Sturgis last year. These boots were not uncomfortable straight out of the box and have gotten better as they broke in.
I've been using the Bates Escalante for the past year or so. They are the exact same boot as HD's Lynx boots minus the logo and jacked up price tag. If I ride in the rain I always use gaiters, but I also wear them at work, and I have had no issues with the waterproofing not working. I will say because they are water tight, they are a little warm in the summer months. They are not Gore-Tex, but use a different kind of membrane. So far they have worn very well and are comfortable enough to wear all day. If I remember I got them for about $120?
I have a pair of Ridge boots they are the most comfortable boot I have ever worn, great for riding and standing or walking all day, just pisses me off they are made in China. Does any one know where those 511s are made?
OK guys, riding season has arrived and I am in the market for some new boots. I need boots that not only fit the bill for riding, but boots you can also walk around in after you get to your destination. Let me know what you like and if you know of a good place to order boots include that as well. Thanks for any suggestions
Just bought a new pair of TCX X-Blend (replaced my Justins after 10 yrs of svc). Spent a little more than I had planned but they are a very nice boot. They are Water Proof not Gore-Tex, very comfy after a little break in. Got them from Rev-Zilla, check em out.
