Okay my '05 Ultra came with a detachable sissy bar (previous owner didn't like having the trunk on) so my question is do I need to buy new docking hardware for the detachable tour pack or can I use this same docking kit.
Guess I need:
Detachable Tour Pack Rack P/N 53276-04
Front Docking Kit P/N 53127-96C
Rear Docking KitP/N 53746-97B
Looks like close to $200 for parts? Does this sound about right?
You'll need to purchase two more sets of docking kit (front and rear) in order to mount your tour pak. I currently have all four kits installed. So, I can mount the detacheable backrest when the tour-pak is off.
Your price quote below, I think, looks accurate. You'll also need to get the tour-pak detachable mounting kit as well as the TP rack. They are sold separately.

Iput the HD quick detach backrest on my 04 Ultra a month ago and then went back for the tour pack detach. The HD tour pack hardware was going to cost me $298. C& C Cycle in Chariton Ia has a sister company called Fat Baggers Inc. that makesabetter system than HD. It fits on the same docking hardware that my sissy bar attaches to and saved me some money.
The FBI company makes some exceptional custom bikes (better than I can afford)and accessories. I liked the bigger range of adjustment with the FBI vs the stock HD besides not needing all of the extra docking hardware at $30-$40 a set. It helps that I'm close and could actually see the item when I picked it up.
I can speak for fat baggers also. I saw this bracket the other day on a roadking in nc and did not know were it come from in the begining but here it is it is truly a nice clean peice. with it you dont need the extra docking hardware plus when the tour pack is not on you do not have those harley hoops sticking out the back of you bike .ITS ALOT CLEANER
