My wife is on the back of my bike roughly 70 % of the time. I find the ABS is a huge plus on my 2013 but I have to admit I think the linked system is amazing. Really wish I had the deep pockets to afford a 2016.

I sold my '09 BECAUSE it had ABS amongst other things. The system kicks in under hard braking if the front wheel goes over a series of bumps. The front end unloads, no matter how hard I squeeze the bike won't stop and I've ended up with the front of the bike IN the intersection.
I think the newer ABS may not be as sensitive and it would not be a deal breaker it the bike I wanted has ABS but, linked brake are.
I kept my '05 Roadie and much prefer the brakes on it.

It absolutely is worth it! It saved my bacon on at least two occasions when cars pulled out in front of me. Wouldn't ride a motorcycle without it on the road.

ABS brakes are there to keep the bike from skidding, swerving and going out of control. They are very effective in doing so. It is foolish to believe that you can stop a bike in an emergency situation better without ABS.

Its the new technology, I own a 2014 ultra, 2000 ultra, you can absolutely feel the differenced between the non abs to the abs. After u try braking with the non abs , makes u appreciate the abs better .Good luck .

If there was a bike I wanted that wasn't available with ABS, I'd still get it. If the model I wanted was available with or without ABS, I'd never buy one without it. It doesn't make anyone a better rider, but it does save people from themselves.

I've only had it on one bike and several cars. The only time I've actually 'used' it was on my first car which had hyper-sensitive braking and would activate at slow traffic speeds. In hundreds of thousands of miles I've never used it in anger. I can understand the interest in technology in helping us, but I don't consider it essential and it wouldn't stop me buying that bike.

Post pics when you get it home!

Going strong since 2008. Wouldn't buy another bike without it if I could help it.
