Default Help Getting K&N Air Filter Off

I appreciate anyone's help with an issue I have getting a K&N air filter off my bike. On a ride over the weekend, I heard a rattling noise from the area around my air filter and after looking it over, I found that the bracket inside the air filter was broken loose. I was able to back the screw that holds the cover on by using a screw driver to apply pressure under the cover screw while backing it out. I then took off the 3 screws that I thought were holding the filter to the backing plate, but the filter will not come off the backing plate. I've done everything short of breaking out a hammer. Here's a pic just before I removed the 3 screws that should be holding the cover in place. The kit was a K&N RK-3930 and the filter model is a K&N E-3972. Any suggestion on what to try next are greatly appreciated.

Maybe its just "stuck" from age and not being removed. Try a lil push and pull action. There should only be the three screws in it which you said you removed.

I flipped the pic. Thanks... I have actually removed all three screws that are showing in the pic and the filter will not budge.

There's a saying: If it moves and isn't supposed to, use duct tape. If it isn't suppose to move and does use WD 40. In this case you may want to try that hammer. Seriously, do you have the K&N filter cleaning kit? Can be had at most auto parts stores. Try the spray oil and let it set up a bit. Just may come loose. Sorry but can't be of any more help as I have had Heavy Breather on last couple bikes.
