I have a 2015 FLTR and have the new police seat with the shock/spring. It rides so smooth absorbing all of the small pavement bumps. The problem is it sits too high for low speed handling and puts me at least 2-3" higher. I'm 6 feet tall and I know there are many officers shorter than me that operate the police Harley's. My question is does anyone know if there is a shorter spring to bring the seat height down? And of course a part number. This is a great seat so I thought about cutting the spring but that would eliminate a finished end.
I think there is some adjustability in that spring but I could be wrong. I find that the higher seating position makes low speed handling better. I am 6' tall and love the higher seat and no more air bladders.

What about the extra height makes low speed maneuvering difficult for you? The extra seat height generally makes it easier to slide forward on the tank which helps when making lock to lock turns......your arms aren't as stretched out. If you aren't scooting forward during your low speed maneuvers, give it a shot....it helps a lot.
The spring only has preload adjustment for the weight of the rider. You can just remove the shock and have the rubbers sit directly on the frame. I have about 3500 trouble free miles on mine without the shock.
I took the air bladder out and cut half the rubber bumpers down, shortened the front medal tube the front bolt goes thru by 7/16 and love the seating position now.
