I did it last summer for 2 nights but I can tell you that a sleeping bag isn't enough to sleep on.

Look at REI. There are some really nice self-inflating air mattresses that collapse down to the size of a Fosters can. This can make a HUGE difference.

around 1979 is when i first camped on a bike(primative).fast forward.. Now I will consider it,for the social activity,and going to be in one spot for a few days.

got a nice 4 man tent that fits in my tour pack but nicer sites will rent you one too. wilderness probably no way,primitive probably no way but 5 star camping ok.

Used to,now my old bones can't take it. Of course now I have to worry about bed bugs in the motels.
