Sounds like a great bike, but way overpriced. You're a motivated buyer and should be dealing "up" from trade-in, not "down" from retail. I'd show $ 500 over trade-in value (www.kbb.com) of cash in a shoe box and look 'em in the eyes. There are plenty of FLH models out there to be had and with an oversupply of new, resale value is way down. Not that there's anything bad about '01s - I ride one.

I really like the SE road glide paint jobs. The baddest stock paint I have seen.

I put 40 miles on my test ride when I bought mine last summer and fell instantly in love. Only wanted to ride a Roadglide and ended up buying it. Mine cost a bit more but the motor had been given 5k of perks and is a real screamerr.

My 2000 SE Roadglide listed for $22,500 when it was new. If you like it then get it. $17,000 is a good price. I've had mine since 2001 and have had no real problems with it. I've done a ton of upgrades and love the bike more each time I ride it.
