I have calmed down a little since yesterday & will go out to the garage & see if I can figure this out soon, but if either of you guys are around maybe you can give me a tip or two:
didn't they give you a wiring diag with that unit?
No, they didn't. I said that in my first post, if they had included a wiring diagram it would have been a piece of cake for me.
After thinking it through last night, I did get it working this morning however so just disregard these posts. Part of the problem was the fitting at the air compressor was never tightened in at the factory, so the air was leaking out preventing the shocks from filling.
It's my mistake, I should have checked that but it was late & I have an inflamed eye leaving me feeling like total crap & unable to see from that eye...........
I too am glad to see you got it working. DI75 and 2006Streetglide are 2 others that come to mind when needing assistance on air shocks, so PM these guys as well.
Well, I've had time to put a few miles on the setup now & I am definitely impressed with the ride quality.
I haven't been able to ride for any long distances as I had a flare-up of an Iritus eye condition & my vision is all screwed up making it kinda scary to ride in traffic. I did ride around some back roads near my house & hit every single bump/pothole etc I could find & the ride quality is impressive. I have a good friend who installed the Legend air system on his EG & the Platinum ride is noticeably smoother than his ride. I had been all set to buy the Legend system before riding his bike & not really liking the ride quality.
My Platinum system does have a small air leak that I need to track down, if I fill the system it loses most of its air overnight.
that fitting is a check valve that prevents air from leaking....mine was overtightened and had a crack...they replaced it...my unit still bleeds down over nite...no biggie tho, i just put some more in....i'm bettin PA will come out with a new & improved version soon and we'll get those ...sorry, just saw your post
sorry about the eye......I bet that really sucked.
You have no idea, I had some oral surgery done & apparently that set off the flare-up(I had this eye condition once years ago, but that time it cleared up quickly with eye drops). It starts out extremely painful & bloodshot(my eye looked like it was bleeding at one point)
I am now going into my 3rd week of treatment on the damn thing. I have to put Prednisone/steroid drops in the eye every two hours & all I can see from that eye is one big white blur(it's like I'm looking through a shower cap). It doesn't hurt anymore, but I can't see a darn thing out of it & of course it is my dominant eye.
I am a photographer at work & trying to shoot pics has been extremely tough & I'm constantly worried that the vision doesn't seem to be returning like I think it should be by this point. I have another eye appointment on Thursday & they may have to hit it with a lazer at that point if I still can't see any better.
