Default Question purchased a Paul Yaffe Monkey Bars

06 Electra Glide. I just purchased a Paul Yaffe 12" Monkey Bar. I am also planning to put a 21" inch front rim in feature.

I am planning changing the cables to braided cables. What size cables should I get?

should I get cables for 14"? since I will be changing the front rim to 21"?

What if I buy cables for 14" and will the slack affect the performance of bike handling?

Also do I need to change the control wiring harness or I can use the stock wiring harness?

I have the MMB 10". I was able to use the stock brake line, I added a wiring kit which I think was 8 inches because I wanted to connect in the stock location instead of moving it to under the radio. I changed out the clutch cable to a plus 4 because I wanted to keep it in the stock location. Cables I can't help, I have TBW. Most will tell you can reroute and use the stock wires, which I am sure will work, I just wanted to keep it more stock.

Good luck with the project, well worth the time and money. I personally would never own another bike without them. Comfort and control is 100% better over stock.

Plus 6 cables all the way.
I like to use Guerrilla Cables brand wiring extensions.

I just had this done at my dealer. My parts Guru advised me to go 4" over stock length on the brake and clutch, and they look and function perfectly. I used Magnum Shielding stainless braided.

The tech lengthened the electric connections as needed, no charge, so I don't really know what the increase was on those.

Good luck, you will love the Yaffe 12" MB's. I find them very comfortable, and they took care of some shoulder pain for me.

Clint44, I have neither the hydraulic clutch, nor ABS, the dealer ordered them for me, I would assume from Drag Specialties.

canyon-electra, they are the 12" MB's. I originally ordered 10" MB's, but they were on like 6 month back-order. I found a bike with the 12's on them, asked the owner if I could just sit on the bike, he allowed me to, and I ordered the 12's after that. They are perfect for me.

And thanks for the compliment!

And, here's a photo from the 4th of July:
