I spent the night at a motel and it came a hard blowing rain. Not sure if the rain caused the problem but the next day the cruise control would not set. Further down the road I noticed the gear indicator in the speedometer was not working. I always start the bike in neutral when cold but later I stopped for gas and the bike had to be in neutral to start. The amber cruise light in the speedometer is on. When working correctly the light will turn green when the cruise is set but it won't set now.
I checked the fuses and they all looked good. I checked the connectors on the "Engine Control Module" and they all looked dry.
The bike does have a power commander that plugs into the ECM and those connections looked dry also.
Should still have your warranty, take it in if you can and let them figure it all out.
I'm afraid they will tell me the warranty is void due to the power commander. I did un-plug the power commander from the ECM and reconnect the factory connectors directly back to the ECM with no luck.
Sounds like you have all the symptoms of a bad clutch switch. The 14 FLHTK has switch packs and the left side has a small switch that is activated when you move the clutch lever, similar to the front brake light switch. Possibly it was affected by the rain. I would have a dealer check it.

Thanks. I will do that this week. I appreciate the helpful response.

If you removed the power commander they wont know it was there, and therefore you wont be bothered by warranty issues. Take it in.
Besides, they'd have to prove the power commander caused the problem, not just claim it did without checking
