Depending on how you want the accessory to be powered is how you choose to wire the male side of the plug. I had added brake lights to my 99 FLHT that were plugged into ACC plug and they came on with brakes. Then I put HD's splitter on the plug and had my heated grips plugged in so they were on with ACC switch while the brake lights came on with brakes. On my '08 I plugged a 12v power port into it which is on with ignition, regardless of position of ACC switch.
I want to power my after market sound system [2005 Road King] using the Deutsch 4 pin connectors under the seat, and control it with the accessory switch on the nancell. The power lead for the amp has 2 wires, black and red with pin connectors [different from the Dueutsch pins]. How do you know which way to wire it, trial and error?. [is there a pattern to the female connector as to which hole does what. I have identified which one has the power. I also have the HD pigtail.

The connector is labeled 1-4, your FSM will identify which wire is in which position.
You can also do a search, I know I've seen it on here before.
Failing that,
Do you have a volt meter or test light?
If there's a black wire it will be ground. Then just test the other 3 unti you find the one that turns on/off with the switch.
Trial and error is likely going to lead to blown fuses or worse.

I have meter and found one lead with power. They sure dont make it easy to get to these connections. FSM = shop manual?. I suppose i will need to change pins on amp power lead.

i wouldn't run an amp on that, amps draw a lot of juice, go direct from battery use an inline fuse as close to the battery as possible.

True, the amp should be straight from the battery but that switch can be used to trigger a relay to turn it on.
