I decided that it may be time to look for another bike as my 07 Road King with 63,000 has done me fine, looking for a new one. Can anyone tell me about what the OTD price would be.. I really dislike this game when purchasing a vehicle ..
Uh, no one can tell you what the OTD price would be because that's a matter of negotiation. Some will chime in saying "I got one for ($X) ", but thats immaterial because your local dealer will have different ideas about how much they are willing to sell one for, trade in value, local market conditions, etc.
I've seen some dealer sell for retail only but give a really high trade in, they gave me 2,000 over kbb on my 07, by the way the rushmore will make say why did i wait so long.
Unless you are paying cash for the bike, you'll do better dealing on a 2016 than a 2015. It has better resale, and you can get a better interest rate on a bike loan on a 2016.
Good Luck!
When I bought my 15 in Morocco Gold with ABS and security in December I paid 11.5 plus my 06 RK with 46k on it, out the door with sales tax and some of the other bs I couldn't get them to budge on. I figured I got it for about 1k under MSRP, plus the 06 had a couple issues developing so I was happy - and now even more so with the improvements and such. You may want to be prepared to buy if you test ride the 15, they are that much better.
Heck Larry, keep the King and buy another bike. Everyone always asked me why I am always dumping money into my King and not buy another bike. So I bought a used Road Glide but kept the King. The Glide was trashed after the King and it being financed gone but the King should be getting out of the shop soon. This winter I will be looking to buy another Road Glide. Down time with just one bike sucks, especially when it has been next to forever.
Conversely you could do a complete makeover on your King as mine is going through. Major motor/drivetrain upgrades are just a small part of the upgrades going on with the old 01. Going to be a show bike when all is said and done. But alas, I will never be all done with this bike....
