Hello everyone...
Recently purchased an 09 Ultra Classic that has been lowered. The sidestand has a wedge installed to correct the lean angle, and does just that when the stand is down. The problem is that when the stand is up, the mounting angle change from the wedge is causing the stand to hit the primary case. Has anyone had this problem and how did you fix it? Is there a longer sidestand rubber bumperstop available or has anyone modified theirs to prevent the rub?
Thanks in advance for any help!
Chuck
Take a look at the one for a Limited Low ... the leg is different and it might work. The mounting bracket is the same for the 09 & 15 low but the leg is different on the low. Just be aware that the low also uses a different primary cover so you'll have to make sure it will work before spending $137.00

I have an 09 RKC lowered with the stock stand, big pain in the ***. Thought about bending it but would like to get back to stock height so probably not. Just living with it.
Thanks all!
I have been researching this quite a bit on the forums here...I hate to replace the stand, but will if that's the only choice. The stand with the wedge works fine, and I am happy with the lean angle. It is just the fact that it hits the primary before the bumpstop and is wearing a gouge in the primary. I tried the add on Lowes rubber bumper stick on fix as a temporary fix, but it only stayed stuck about 5 minutes! lol It looks like an extended length factory rubber stop would fix this...and I was hoping someone here already has been through this and found something that works, but it appears that maybe changing stands is the only option?
I cut two inches out of my kickstand to get the right angle on it when the bike is aired out and had the same problem. I used a rubber stopper and at first tried to just glue it on but had the same problem. I ended up putting a large screw through the bump stop mounting hole to attach it. It has been that way for 5000 miles now with no issues. Hope this helps.

My 09 is lowered too, installed the proper shorter sidestand mfg by hd that cost me approx $55-60 from local HD dealer & all is good
with no fus no mus having to jump thru hoops modding your own stand that doesnt fit well and or stop for when stand is up keeps falling off etc.
Takes approx 10 min to bolt on with no mods required.
Its' designed for lowered FLHTCU / touring bikes so it fits the bike properly when up / seated in proper stock location against stock bump stop and it also holds the bike up properly when its the down position just the original side stand did when bike was at higher stock height.
Dont have pt# for it but you should be able to find it in HD accessories or ask for it from your local HD shop.
But why chince out on something that holds up the bike you paid what , maybe 10k-15k used or 20k+ new for that could in fact result in the bike falling over sometime damaging it which just doesnt make good sense when you can bolt on the proper side stand for a lowered toruing bike in 10 mins for $55-60.
One more idea that worked for me on an 02 FLHTCUI was using the Jiffy Stand Bumper for a 94 FLHTP. The 02 had a rubber bumper that slid onto a tab on the kickstand but every time I parked the bike in gravel it would push the bumper off. The 94 had a bumper that snapped onto the lower frame rail and never fell off.
