Talked to Brian at Fuel Moto, looking at going with the CNC port and polished heads. Also upgrading cams to the TW-777, along with polishing the TB. I also would like some thoughts from you guys on going with HC pistons. Any recommendations on what pistons to go with. Screamin' Eagle, CP, MTC, etc. Thanks for the help.
If you are going fm heads then get their 107" set up at the same time. Send them your cylinders and they will send you a set that has been bored and honed to the pistons. They will get you set up with the right cams to get you the right ccp for your liking. I use CP but I'm sure whatever fm uses is fine too.
as above a kit or package approach will give repeatable results, motor after motor.
FM has a great name ( I don;t use) and they offer many package variants with dyno charts showing results.
pick what you like and go with that.
don;t pay so much attention to peak power numbers, but look at the curves in teh rpm areas which you use- take gearing and weight into account.
there are other builders and kits and you should look into those as well- and ask them for recommendations.
the guys who are out there are running top flight shops and not fly-by-night. although some of those are still around.
but buying a kit means that someone smarter has already done the thinking for you

How much torque do you think the stock crank could handle? Was reading in this forum and the question was raised. I guess it would depend on your riding habits?
Im not a WOT kind of rider, just would like having the added power if I need it.
If you are looking for guarantees on reliability, there isn't one. I am running close to 130 sq on my 107" with a stone stock bottom end. I am not delusional in thinking that it will hold up forever. I have accepted that it may come undone tomorrow. If you up the power you will be in the same situation, a hand grenade with the pin out. Might be today, might be tomorrow, but it will blow when we do to these things that we do to them with a stock bottom end. I am ready to pull it apart soon to do the bottom end, might stay 107" might go 117", I don't know. Depends on my mood, LOL
