Default SG outer fairing removal

What do I need to do to take off the outer fairing? Is it just the 3 top screws and the 4 inner screws? Does the headlight have to come off? I think I want to straighten my radio my self so I will know what I have to do when I install better speakers?

Three screws in the front and 4 on the inner fairing. Leave the middle screw in the front in place until the rest are out so the fairing doesn't drop off and hit the front fender. To take the headlight wiring loose, just press the connection at the headlight on the back of the fairing and it will unplug the wire from the headlight and the fairing is completely loose.

I always put a blanket on the front fender just in case.

You're almost there, the 3 top screws and 4 inner screws. The headlight stays in the fairing, you just need to unplug the harness connection from the back of the bulb once you lower the fairing.

Here's a tip. Leave the top center screw in place after you've removed the other screws. Place a soft thick towel on top of your front fender. Now remove the last bolt while supporting the fairing. If you don't it will fall and bounce off the top of you're fender.

You can now lift the fairing away from the bike and lower it on your fender for support while you unplug the bulb.
