Sorry for the hijack - I'm considering a headlight replacement.

The Trucklight is more aesthetically pleasing, but which is brighter?

I'm currently running the 2010 vintage HD HID. I swapped the Halogen hi beam with a HID 60W 6000K. It is pretty bright. I may look for the dual halogen kit, and buy an aftermarket low HID... The Harley HID low is kind of a 'brown' 4300k HID.

I'm supplementing with Clearwater Darlas. They're pretty awesome.

Curious if anyone has done a comparison. I know you sometimes just gotta pick. LED or stick to HID...

Thanks.

I guess you could take that either way, what I meant was that the TL7 is only a little bit more and a LED designed housing vs the halogen designed housing. I'd opt for the TL7 for just a few bucks more.

Then again, I went ahead and did the evo 2 so we'll see how that guy works.

I went with one of these on my roadking.

I liked that it was the highest advertised output of any LED light.
Although, it doesn't draw the advertised wattage on high beam that they state. (about 40, not 48w).
It looks good, probably throws twice the distance of the stock headlight.
I'm very happy with it.
Be aware, its pretty big, it barely fit in my roadkings housing.

I have had the stock h4 halogen, h4 upgraded lamp, h4 hid, dual halogen, dual halogen converted to 2 h9 Piaa lamps, dual halogen with Fuel Moto LED lamps, and I have had the JW Speaker Evo 2.

The best so far had been the Fuel Moto LED lamps. The JW Speaker had far too much cut off, and the lux doesn't seem to be there. It seemed like it threw a lot of light, but as soon as someone gets behind me, I'm in my own shadow. With the JW you cannot see into and around a bend. You have to supplement it with some driving lights or something. I have 3 friends who hated their Daymaker projector. None of them run driving lights. For the price you shouldn't have to. They're good for a jeep or semi. Not a bike.

Post some pics of those Darlas. I've been looking at Clearwater.

I just replaced the factory h9 & h11 bulbs in my 14sgs with two h11 led bulbs for a total of 6000 lumens. I have a wider and farther light pattern than my buddies truck light. Personally I like the look of the oem light thats why I went this route in the first place. Below is a pic of low beam only.

What brand bulbs did you go with? Have a link to where you bought them? thanks

I grabbed them up in York pensylvania from a vendor at harley open house for around a hundred bucks. I will try to dig up the paperwork on em. They are the lights without the cooling fan. They now have a flexible heat sink built in to the back witch helps fit into tighter spaces over a fan cooled light.
