So I just threw on VH power duals, high outputs, and fuelmoto's ac with their map on power vision on a new SGS. First time I did something like this on a bike, but wasn't too difficult - following all directions and you tube videos.
Took it out for a spin - feel and sounds good. About 20-30 miles. Upon coming back, looks like the back of the left slip on is all yellow-gold while the right one is just fine.

Did I do something wrong?
Looks like you left the shipping packing in the right one
Clean it off (brake clean works good) and take it for another spin. I'm thinking it's just some residual protective oil that burned off on the inside of the pipe. Nothing to worry about
Did you wipe them down before you started the bike up? Oils from your hand have been known to leave marks on pipes if not wiped off after installation.

Mine looks like that and after a while, it starts even looking black. brake or carb cleaner will take it off. It is only on my left side as well. after dealing with this for about 3 years now, I have only come to the conclusion it is an intake leak ( or maybe exhaust leak). Why do I say that? i took it in to have service one time and the tech noticed i had an intake leak. he fixed it. I left after had it fixed. on the ride home, it ran like crap (dealer already closed so couldn't go back) by the time i got home, it was running great again. (talked to tech next time i saw him and he said that new intake gasket has to heat up for the first time to seal. I let him know that i didn't appreciate him leaving that out. i worried the whole 75 miles home that i was hurting the motor). But the end of that exhaust was totally blacked out. So that told me that the intake leak that was worse on the way home was the culprit for that. Anyway, when I got home I cleaned the chrome pieces real good. I was thinking that the leak may have caused this. for the next bit, it no longer turned it colors like that. Well it is back to doing it again now. but not as bad. So I may have an intake leaking again.
I've also had some exhaust leak issues. That may have had something to do with it. After having all this worked on, I still hear what I think is some kind of leak, but can't figure out what it is. I guess when it gets worse, it will let me know.
