While I really like my heated Hammock; if I was riding NY to CA in four days I would go to the Russell Day Long seat factory in Redding CA to be custom fitted. There seats are used by more iron but riders than any other. I have been to there factory, they hand built each seat for the rider.

I have an ultimate with separate pillion for my road King, I have sundowners for a dyna and sporty, but went with the ultimate since it had a wider pillion. I ride them all 1000 mile days routinely. My longest day on the ultimate was from Tonopah NV, through monument valley to Dallas, +1560ish miles in 36 hours. Seat was fine. I do not use it with the backrest, tried it but didn't like it.

If you are banging on every bump or road seam, you aren;t going to wanna be in the saddle for 10 or 12 hours a day.

seat, shocks, bar position, windscreen, posture and physical condition all factor in.

I'm a smurf, so keep that in mind.

I've got a Comfort Stitch, a Corbin Solo, and a Reach. I would take them in that order.

The Comfort Stitch is one I can and do ride all day long in, with almost no discomfort. It's not perfect, but pretty darn close. My Comfort Stitch may be an older reach type, I'm not sure of that though.

The Corbin Solo is a Close model. It's a miss for me mostly because it's not close at all. But also because it's just not quite comfortable, especially all day comfort. It's not bad, but it's not good either. I so want to like this seat because I love the looks of a solo seat, but since it scoots me back several inches compared to the Comfort Stitch, my back and arms pay the price. My bum tends to be numb by the end of the day as well. Sitting on leather is nicer than sitting on vinyl though.

The Reach is not comfortable at all. Not so much because of the tight pocket squashing you, but because of the slab bottom. It likely could be modified to become comfortable, but I'll probably never get around to doing this.

Mustang! Installed it and rode 800 miles the first day I had it on. Now 30K later still very comfy. The backrest also is a huge plus.

It's a super solo.

I would go for a mustang seat. I have 2 of them and may be willing to sell one of them because I want to get a heated mustang seat for my bike. I will let it go for 400 bucks as I paid over 700 for it 3 months ago. That would include shipping or 350 and you pay for shipping and packing. Its the regal series mustang with a nice stitching pattern on the seat. I can send pics if you want.
