Great, I'm excited for the key bolt, didn't end up doing anything with mine. Half the world probably doesn't use the steering lock anyway...

How's the performance? Everything you've ever dreamed of? Handle and ride better than a 2016 Harley or 2010 goldwing?

Rain + new miss = no real test ride.

Bike feels 100% better. Excellent road feedback with good absorption of road problems. I've only really been able to test it over road construction. It has great compliance over uncommon abusive bumps and drops. I won't be able to really test out it's "performance" aspects until NorCal dries out a bit.

Never ridden a wing or rushmore. I didn't buy it with comparison in mind. I bought it because I wanted the best and I didn't want to question any other choice. I didn't want to doubt myself in the future wondering "what if". There's no other solution that includes the appropriate diameter tubes, so this was the only option for me. There are many other people who probably think like I do, but there are likely way more who have other goals. You can't get better than what I have; Ohlins is top shelf and capable of being built into a superior component for any rider. Howard supplied the needed rigidity to allow the Ohlins to work as designed.

Maybe another option would have worked for my needs, but none of the other ones would have provided the entertainment of the task (or this thread) which for me is another deciding component. I like wrenching on my bike. I like being unique. I like having the only non-Rushmore Road King with 49mm forks. I really like V-Rod wheels and might make the front one fit on this, still undecided. And in the end, if I went another way, in my head, I'd always question "what if" (plus I'm engaged, I'd likely never be able to spend that much money in the future ;-P).

Default Finished last night

Lock modification was very easy after making a new Stainless Steel replacement bolt. I just replace it by removing the two screws under the lock and pulling the pin than installing the new bolt & reassembling it. I did my own the day before yesterday (Tuesday, 1.26.16) but I am slammed at work building stuff no one else knows how to do on other projects. I will ship these parts out to Greg & one other customer who has a 2002 Road King with (I believe) a 145ci. There are so many HD models and HD makes so many different minor changes, actual real life testing is needed before the release of any new product is necessary.

I designed these trees to also be used on inverted forks if anyone actually wants them. These will work out of the box. I am getting a patent for this set up to eliminate those unscrupulous people who copy my design and ideas. Please remember that I started this project many years before HD announced their 49mm forks in the 2014 Touring family.

Howard,

You obviously know shocks and how to build them. Your efforts for installing a more rigid front end are commendable.

Have you actually looked into hiring a patent attorney and the cost? Were using Dyna parts for the concept prior to Tim's bike? The fork tubes and sliders were new 2014 HD parts you reworked for more travel, 30mm Ohlins cartridges and installed on tj316's bike.

Before you get pissed at me I'm just asking questions. And again I think you're doing a great job.

BTW, an inverted setup would be great for the touring bikes if you can actually make it fit. within the nacelles, light bars and fairings.

Mine were not take off parts but 2014 new parts I ordered from Harley and sent to Howard , inverted forks are great but there are issues with them on a bagger , Howard did inverted forks on a bagger 5 years on more ago , when I spoke to him about the pros and cons of inverted forks on a bagger I decided to go with the conventional forks

16x3 9-Spoke with rotors = 23.685 lbs

So I gathered up some 2000-2007/08 16x3 "Touring" wheel weights and posted HERE

I'll try to gather up 17x3 28-spoke, 18x3.5 Airstrike, and 19x3.5 Enforcer weights .
