Seems like we still have a "mix" of experiences, recommendations and opinions. OP, I say you'll need to trial & error this one b/c every install is a tad different.

For my 09 FLHX, I went w/10" PrimeApe bars b/c the consensus was you didn't need any wire/cable extensions. Well...not true...I ended up doing a huge re-routing/re-wiring project and swapping clutch cable for +4" longer. It all depends on how/where you position the bars and how they align-up w/your connection points.

I say...take your time, do it right and see what might need extending or swapping. In the end you'll learn alot about your bike and will be satisfied it was all completed correctly and...looks good too.

I have 14" HCC Bagger Apes on my 2014 SGS. The stock hydraulic lines (after rerouting) were long enough, as was the TBW. The only thing I bought were the plug and play wire extensions that allow you to plug the hand controls into the original position behind the radio. If you don't buy the wire extensions then you need to move the plug caddy from the back of the radio to the front, which IMO is a real hassle that $27 wire extensions eliminate.

Also, FWIW, I put a set of 10" bars on a 2015 Limited Low and only used wire extensions. On both bikes, the TBW was more than long enough to reach.

And I've been told I definately need new lines.
I've been told the wiring for the controls is long enough, and I've been told it's not.

And as this thread runs its course, you keep getting the same conflicting answers.

The best answer is to put the handle bars on YOUR bike the way YOU want them and see what YOU do and don't need.

I just put 14" twin peaks on my 13 flhx , The previous owner had wild 1 chubby bars , The wiring had extensions already on. What I had to do was remove the TBW connector and splice and solder, heat shrink the connections. If I do it again I will remove the outer covering and pull the wires in.The reason I removed the connector on the TBW is because it wont fit in the bars,it wont go through the bend at the top. Over all I am very pleased with these bars, very good quality, look really good.

The obvious came to mind when I do my own bars. If I want to have taller bars and keep everything else just how it was out of the factory, I need longer cables, brake line and wire extensions. Folks that dont need that OEM quality create their own brew. Nothing wrong with either way, but explains why all the different answers to your question.

Thank you all...
I do see that there are still a mix of experiences.
But after I sift out the apples from the oranges (different years, etc) I do think I found the answer I needed, or at least a little more awareness of what I'm heading into.

I've got parts on order and plenty to do in the meantime but by next weekend I'll be tackling my new bars.

THANKS TO ALL WHO REPLIED.

I'll post an update when I'm finished.
Cheers.
