isn't just adding the o2 sensors half-assing it? aren't there other sensors involved that you would need input from?

Depends on what he uses them for- if used with an add-on ecm like the thundermax, the thundermax will use sensor input to determine the air density, crank position, temperatures and control the fuel delivery based on those sensors- adding o2 sensors tells the ecm the results of the fuel delivery ( too much, too little).

It was a huge failing of HD to not use o2 sensors on the efi for the first 11 years...dunderheaded

Both GR and I use o2 sensors to tune older carbed bikes...I use an o2 sensor on my 53 FLF, my Evos and my 77 Honda trail 90...and on some of my old Cadillacs.

When driving, observing the o2 sensor readings with a voltmeter you can see in realtime if you are rich/lean and adjust for it...then check your work

I have a 2006 FLHX-I, for those of us that prefer the names, it's a fuel injected 2006 Street Glide.

A friend of mine is now doing tts tuning, which involves removing any piggy back programmers (power commander, ect...) and he then rewrites my ECM. I was sorta skeptical at first, but then let him do it. WOW! over 20% more hp and torque over what the PC3 and a dyno tune got me.

Anyhow, this is thread is not about what he did, but rather what I want.

My bike came without O2 sensors. If I had O2 sensors, he says that the ECM would constantly adjust to air temp, humidity, and other weather/atmospheric conditions; but since I don't have O2 sensors, I am still only running the one map or tune.

SO...how do I got about adding O2 sensors? Is it as easy as getting an ECM from a bike with O2 sensors that will still plug into my wiring harness? I do believe they had some '06 SG fuel injected with O2 sensors in California, no?

Any help is most appreciated.
Yes, its possible and you don't need to change the ECM. I'm considering doing it on my 2005 FLSTNi.

The procedure is documented in the TTS Master Tune Tuning manual available on the TTS Mastertune web site

Thunder max was an a great add to my bike...did it when I upgraded to the D&D headers. Installed at the Loan Star Rally for the cost of the parts only
