Default Exhaust Performance Question

I have a 2008 Ultra. 96 ci, Arlen Ness Stage 1 Big Sucker, 255 SE cams, Power Vision Tuner, and low end Cobra True duals with Vance and Hines Monster Ovals.. I love the sound of the pipes and Monsters. Question is how much is my performance suffering due to the exhaust setup. Also do I need to go to a stage 2 breather. If I can't get a significant performance increase I would like to stay with my current exhaust and air cleaner setup. Sounds really good to me.

for power nothing beats a good 2 into 1 header setup.

I have decent low end power. I am lacking is at speed (70+) bucking and head wind two up. Noticed the stock 103HO, also two up I was riding with made a hiway pass and I knew I didn't have time or the passing power to make the move. Is that to be expected?

The problem really isn't with your exhaust or air cleaner. It's the gearing on the 08's that make them a dog on the top end. On the 08 I had, I never went into 6th till above 75mph.

couple of ways to lower your gearing, it would make a big difference especially 2 up.

those 103 ho bikes haul *** stock !! I ride my Dads whenever I can !!

As others stated gearing is the issue, both primary ratios and final as well IIRC.

Just downshift, my dead pal had a 08 Ultra converted to a trike and he bitched about what a dog it was until it was suggested he just downshift on grades and passing, then he was happy.

Really no such thing as a "Stage 2" air-cleaner. Slap a D&D Fatcat on it and then get it re-tuned.
