Hello, I was riding yesterday with a friend. He has a 2013 Limited with stage 1 with TTS tuner. He was on the interstate with cruise set at 70mph. He hit a nice size bump, cruise disengaged on it's own, check engine light came on and bike lost a lot of power. He said it felt like it was being held back by the wind or pulling a heavy trailer. A bogged down feeling is what he said. We stopped at a restaurant close by and once the bike cooled off everything was fine and the bike ran like normal. Just curious what you guys think.
Doesn't really sound like limp mode if he was able to rev the bike over like 1800 RPM or something - it's real low, limp mode that is.
The cruise cutting off after a large bump is pretty normal.
He needs to check for codes since his CEL came on. Easy...
Thanks Vernal, the limited performance sounds like what he described. It would still run at highway speeds but took a while to get up to them. I have the bike now and will pull the codes tomorrow.

Great info from Vernal (as usual). I forgot about all the variations being caught up on what others call those symptoms typically.
Since this happened right after a bump, a good place to start looking is the TCA connector. In the past it was a common issue. Fretting, water, corrosion and stuff. May only need cleaning. Lots of threads describing that issue.
