might have to get me a lil bottle of plex ... see how that works as well. Always willing to try something new to see how it works. I know the HD Bug remover works very well and have had no issues with it. Will be interested in seeing how the PLEX works.
I have a baby blanket that is as large as the W/S. When I start my wash job, I spray off the W/S, dip the blanket into the soapy water and lay it over the W/S. I wash the whole bike and at the end, splashing some suds onthe blanket occasionally, thenI pull the blanket off and washthe W/Sjust like the rest of the bike and it comes out clean as it can be.
I have some of the Harley/rainX type stuff made for it and apply it after drying.
I too have never used anything other than a big bath towl, soaked in HOT water. Ring it out and lay it on the shield for 3 minutes. Take another towel or microfiber and the bugs come right off!
Done this for 4 years with no scratches at all. Do it at the hotels with my "used" bath towel too.
I've always used a chamis (spelling...one of those leather cloths) that I soak in hot water. Lay it on the windshield for a few minutes then I use a wool wash mitt with mild soap to clean the windshield and paint. Has always worked well for me.
I used to wax the windshields on my Goldwings but haven't tried that on the Ultra.
Another vote for Plexus. I've also tried the Nevus stuff, which is good, but I think Plexus is the best. Like others have said, it's important to use a wet towel or tee shirt to soak the bugs and them wipe them off befiore using Plexus or any other cleaner. You don't want to scratch your windhshield with dust, dirt and bugs.

Plexus is abolutely the BEST plastic cleaner made. We don't sell it either, but, we should (I obviously have no impact on my dealer - LOL). Of course, NEVER use a paper towel on plastic - only use a cotton or microfiber cloth.
