I bought and installed the Ohlins #2 adjustable. This is my first experience with aftermarket shocks so I'm somewhat limited in experience. I can say the difference is literally night and day. Now the front end feels like **** and more money for Howard. Howard's customer service in my opinion is second to none. I cannot argue as to whose shock is best just that now my ride is less "shocking". Handling is much better on hiways and in parking lots. Hope this helps.
Now that my Ohlin 2~2 (B)'s are broken in, The wife and I were going 50 mph on a brick cobblestone road that would have been torture at 30 mph yesterday. So smooth, She said they must have fixed the road lol.(They didn't)I have Progressive monotubes up front also.
There's Ohlins, and then there's a lot of companies fighting over who's second-best.
====================================
Thats about the best way you could put it.
The only thing i will add to that is there are 2 very important things people overlook when going with Ohlins or any aftermarket shocks in general which are:
1) They 1st need to be properly setup & built by an experienced shock tech that hopefully has exp building shocks for the bike they are going on like in our case lrg/hvy touring HD's.
2) Just as important(maybe most!) is the buyer of the shocks needs to also realize the aftermarket shocks they just bought need to be properly installed along with also having the patience to then setup proper sag too.
Now they need to put some miles on the shocks for a little breakin time , then they need to take mult rides to properly adj/dial in spring load (dampening & compression adj if present too!) to get full benefit and best ride quality from their new aftermarket shocks which more often then then not seems to be a problem when guys install aftermarket shocks.
That in some cases results in the new aftermarket shocks having a harsh ride making the owners unhappy because they didnt take the time to properly dial the shocks in as called out by the mfg and or by the vendor that set them up & sold them the shocks to begin with which i see/read here at times in hdforums placing a somewhat unfair negative light on the shock mfg and or vendor that setup & sold the shocks to them which we have all seen posted here from time to time.

I went with the #2 adjustables from Howard as well and love them. I had no idea how bad my suspension was until I put the Ohlins on. Wish I gotten them sooner.
I could've saved some money and went with the Progressive shocks. But you get what you pay for. I want the best.
Well guys,I just received my Progressive 944s,got it fitted and from my initial few miles I must say there's an obvious difference..I'm not sure if I set the sag to the correct level but i just turned enough to see one groove visible.It seem to absorb the tinny ripples on the road real nice.So far I'm happy with it.
In Canadian dollars with shipping it worked out to be the same as if I had bought a set of 944's up here and picked them up myself and didn't pay shipping. I just finished sending him the money for a set of 2-2B's. His pricing is very good. Better than I was expecting as there was some discounts he applied that I didn't even know about. I would expect with the lower cost of shipping within the states they would work out cheaper for you.
