No power at my accessory switch
Hello all.
I have a 2009 FLTR Road Glide and I have lost power to my accessory switch. I have power at the fuse, but not to the switch or the connector under the seat. Also do not have the cig lighter or GPS now.
Any help,is appreciated
Thanks Rich

oh oh. have you had electrical problems in the past or has your bike been in a flood?
on the 09 FLTR the orange/red stripe wire goes directly from the fuse to the accessory plug under the seat.
if you have a good fuse ( and power INTO the fuse and power OUT OF the fuse)...and no power at the acc plug pin # 1, then you have a broken wire IN the main harness.( or as above severely corroded)
I would pull the main 40 amp maxi fuse and using an ohm meter check for continuity between the fuse socket ( cold or load side) and pin #1 of the acc plug.
if there is no continuity then you have a broken wire in the main harness.
double check with maxi fuse in place that you have power to the P&A fuse socket...if not then you may have a bad start and or system relay ( you can swap with brake replay to check the relay)
and check again that your fuse is good.
if you have time you may want to go through the fuses and clean them up
before- after- scotchbrite pad ( or fine file) & grease:

How did you test the fuse?
When dealing with a possible fuse problem, the best way is just replace the suspect fuse. They are cheep.
