Like i stated before,with the j&m's ihave the volume about half way sometimes couple of notches more or less regardless if it is a cd or radio.Stock speakers i would be at least 3/4 volumejust to try to hear music going down the road.There were times i would just turn off radio.Love my j&m's regardless what anyone says,vast improvement over stock speakers..

After reading the "OTHER SPEAKER" thread.... I also ordered JBL GTO527's ($58.95 shipped - E-Bay) - Looking forward to see how well these will perform... Gotts to have my tunes while cruisin' @ 80mph (lol)

I have the same setup its awesome! if your gonna upgrade may as well go all the way, let me know how the sub works out, were you gonna put it? I dont really want anything in my bags, but I guess than may be the only way.

Just ordered the Hawg Wired system yesterday to be delivered to the stealer for installation this week on my new 08 SG. Yes it is pricey but you have to pay to play. If you want quality this system rocks. The company is family owned and the components are built on site. They are very helpful and willing to answer all questions I went with the 4 channel amp and component speakers. The amp has a 5th channel output for the upcoming SUBWOFFER. Talk about a real thumpin!!!

I'm in the market for some replacement speakers for my RG and after reading the available threads on this topic, I'm coming down with a headache. Some guys say hog tunes, some j&m, some even say the stock set are better than both and now we have jbl thrown in the mix too. There has to be a better way to compare this stuff....

I am sure the JBL's are decent speakers ,,,, they have a quality name in the audio industry ,,,,
not just to blow my own horn ,,, butfor theRoadGlide I would get the all-weather J&M speakers for no other reason than the replacement grills themselves, as the factory Harley Grills start looking a bit ratty after a few years ,,,,,, photos below from the J&M website ,,,,

The JBL's as well as the Infinity Kappa 52.7i are both 2 ohm and will work with the stock 2006+ Harmon radio (those speakers are also manufactured by Harmon!). However, neither of them are weatherproof and it states in the owners manual not to get them wet. How are you going to get around this?

In regards to this post, I can tell you that I bought two sets, one set for the fairing and one set for the rear, Pioneer, 3 way, 5 1/4, 4 ohms speakers. Since I did not know the difference between 4 and 8 ohms, I found out that the 4 ohms, while sitting in the garage sounded great, on the road, as JM says, they cut out. So, I have some new Pioneers in my garage, sitting in the J&M boxes. Can't take them back since I threw away the receipt.I replaced them with the J&M speakers and they work great. As far as Hog tunes, never have heard them so I have no opinion.
