Default Throttle by wire handlebar swap

I have a 2010 Ultra Classic with TBW. I'm wanting to change the handlebars from the stock 8" to the 10" Heritage Soft tail bars. Can you make the heritage bars into TBW?

Notches have to be cut into the bar end to mount the sensor- if the desired bar doesn;t, you cut cut notches of the correct size

BUT will the new bars fit in the center section of the fairing?

they may not have the required width- check that

Thanks MK, I've never attempted to change anything like that on a bike and never would have thought about fitment. I'll have someone who's experienced more than me to check on that. Thanks again.

Most people also stick with a six bend handle bar for better hand grip position than you'll get with a four bend handle bar. Your Heritage bars are probably four bend.

there are a good number of threads with reviews, parts number and sources.

I'd suggest you comb through and see what other riders have found that fits.

unless the Heritage bars have changed in the last couple years, they are not wide enough to be used with the fairing.

Good catch there MK, I didn't figure softail bars would fit in a bat wing.

Take a look at Khrome werks, they seem to have the best dimensional information...not the highest quality though. Wild ones has really good quality. Between the Khrome werks, wild ones, carlinis, and stock that I have had Khrome werks had the best info available on the bars, wild ones great quality for price, and carlinis were by far the nicest bars I've ever seen but spendy. The chrome on the carlinis was WOW, the fitment and welds on the Khrome Werks was poor.
