So my bike has been popping a bit and feels like the engine is dragging. I also noticed there has been wet spots on the ground from the battery and the voltage has been kinda high.. The engine and battery light just came on. I read some things on here about its probably my voltage regulator, but would that cause my engine to feel likes it's dragging? The bike has about 41k miles on it.. I also have an issue where if I stop for instance for smokes and go to restart the starter will make a terrible noise and not want to start and I can smell oil but no leaks.. It doesn't happen cold, only after it's been driven
Yeah the battery on the bike gauge is reading over 15.. I noticed that the same time I noticed the "water" under my bike.. Which I assume is from the battery. I have an extended service thing at cowboy Harley, so I'm gonna take it in, but I would still like to know what's going on since I do prefer to work on my own bike. I'm gonna haul the bike in to prevent any further damage. But my guess, with all of yer input, is its my VR. The "drag" is felt when accelerating or when I let off the throttle it feels like the engine is slowing down way more than it should... Thanks guys this is great!
