Hello, I've got a buddy who is having a issue with the audio system on his 2013 Limited. I put a aftermarket amp and speakers in his bike about 5 months ago with no issues. He said this past weekend he was listening to his MP3 player (plugged in through the input on the front of the radio) about every 20 minutes the audio would shut off completely. He would move the speaker switch (on the dash next to the ignition switch) from the middle position to the bottom position and the audio would come back on. 20 minutes later the audio would shut off again. He would move the switch from the bottom position back to the middle and the audio would come back on. He said the entire ride went like this. Could it be a bad switch? The bike has about 35,000 miles on it.


I did search but didn't find any info.

I did some deeper searching and I found that this is not a uncommon issue. It seems the problem is not with the switch but the HK radio itself. Yuck!

 

I'm pretty sure the last time I saw someone with this issue it was the radio not the switch. I'm sure someone will know for sure or have him contact Iron Cross and they should be able to confirm.
