So on my 2014 Electra Glide I have a USB port to plug in my Scan Disk brand audio device. My question is does the USB port charge the battery in the device? Last year I had my dealer install the HD Boom stage 2 audio system 600 watt monster and noticed even with the current download upgrade from Harley that every so often the music pauses for a sec or two than continues the song.
Now I just pulled my device out of the bike and noticed that the battery icon on the device was low so I charged it. Going for a ride now to see if it was the problem. I just called the dealership and was told that the USB port will charge a smart phone but may not charge other devices. Possible?
Sure it's possible, not all USB charging ports are created equally.
Some only charge at 1A, others at 2, still others higher.
Or it's possible that the cable vibrated out enough to not have good connectivity.
Or it's possible that there is a problem with the port in the bike.
it shpuld be charging it, but with HD,you can never be too sure. qhen I rented a rushmore bike i used a USB flashdrive after i gave up on the shoddy Bluetooth connection.
