Kuma are you were talking passing lamps wired to stay on with highs...you helped me out with that a few months ago...completed! For some reason I thought you had somehow wired the low beam to stay on with the high beam but I see the light already comes configured to run that way.
Thanks everyone! Plan is in action.
I had to hard wire the low beam to stay on with high beam on my bike. Before it was either low or high, not both. 2011 FLHRC
This is exactly what I did. OPT7 headlight, with JDM LED spots. Stupid amounts of light. Easy drop in bulbs. Here's my bike with the OPT7 next to a new Limited with the MOCO Daymaker. No spots in either pic. It wasn't even close.
Hey bikerlaw...what happened to those crazy a$$ driving lights you had mounted on your crash bars?

LOL, gentleman...... I removed them. They are currently in my storage room.
I was not kidding when I said the OPT7 LED light was the shiznit. Those spots where the catz azz when I was running halogen lights. But now that I have switched the LED's up front, they don't offer the BLAST of light they once did. And once I further upgrade my spots to better than $29 LED's, they may become nothing but a fond memory. HA!!!
That being said..... they were some cool azz chrome!
"
Bikerlaw, what's your opinion on the opt7 led headlight plus led passing lamps vs the dual halogen headlight with 65w bulbs in both sockets, low stays on with high beam, and the 37w bulbs in passing lamps. I'm not certain you tried side by side but you had posted that you are very much in favor of that halogen set up but also speak highly of your led set up...just wondering which you think is best."
Oops I see the OPT7 is drop in bulb...so I still need the dual bulb bucket. Maybe I'll try 65w halogen in low, opt7 led in high, and led in passing lamps...or some variation
late to the thread but i wanted to cast my vote for the truck-lite set. the previous owner of my bike installed them. i wasn't sold on them until i went out at night the first time. things are bright and crisp. would definitely replace if they were broken.

So you've "seen the light" HA! Will have to check them out.

My bike is a 2013, so it uses the standard one bulb configuration. I was running a 80/100w Hella and upgraded 37.5w spots. I also ran a ceramic plug to withstand the added heat of the Hella. In side by side comparisons with my brothers Daymaker on low beam. Its was pretty close, in terms of actual light output. Though the Daymaker was of course whiter. On high beam my 80/100w Hella killed the Daymaker. I mean on dark back roads, that Hella lit up everything's from gutter to gutter. Massive amounts of light. But, and this is the but..... that light is NOT DOT approved, and you can get a ticket. But it threw tons of light.
The OPT7 is very similar. Not as perfect a pattern as the Hella, but lots of bright white light. Its takes some adjustments, but it's cheap, easy to install and bright. My buddy runs the Fuel Moto 9/11 set. Also, super bright. Like you, we are working on getting them both to light up on high, like the Rushmores. IMHO, that's the best setup out there now.
Edit. OPT7 as well as fuel Moto sell LED H9 11 bulbs.
Thanks bikerlaw it looks like you were commenting that the dual light with passing lamps is the best " method" - bulbs/filaments aside. Well guys thanks for all your input. I should have a dual bulb bucket headed my way and will either plug in upgraded halogen or some OPT7 bulbs...of course Doing a little more research on what the market has to offer from fuel Moto and what not.
