Default SE 4" Big Bore kit?

Looking for reviews on the SE 4" Big Bore cylinder and piston kit that brings displacement up to 110. Considering doing a FM 107 build which only bumps displacement up 4" and thought why not use the SE 4" big bore kit? Are the SE big bores durable and reliable? Or are there issues with how their made? Are the spigots too thin to be durable? Is the cast in place steel liner a proven manufacturing technology?

I would not consider H-D SE to be the leader in terms of performance results.

FM and other aftermarket companies seem to have good repeatable results from their motor kits- better bang for buck- and appear to have very good after sale support

Mike: I agree with both of your statements.

As a long time FM customer, I can say from first hand experience that the support following any purchase is as extensive as needed, and extended for as long as needed. While I don't have experience with Hillside, based on what I've read they too are a quality company to deal with in every respect.

I agree. The only item of interest is the 4" jugs and pistons to bump displacement to 110 instead of going from 103 to 107. Everything else would be aftermarket - Fuel Moto.

The SE 110 jugs seem to holding up fine but the problem seems to be the inability (no room left) to machine for proper piston fit (hit and miss stock). The performance difference between 107 and 110 is all in the rest of the build. Them 3 cubes mean little...

The performance difference between a 103 and a 107 is also all in the rest of the build. 4 cubic inches will return aprox 4 additional hp, all other factors being relatively equal. The jump from 103 to 110 would return approx. 7 additional hp, again assuming similar components and build quality (cams, heads, induction, exhaust, compression).

My 2 cents... Must be a reason why S&S and Fuel Moto stop at 107.

That is exactly what I was thinking.

I had the SE 110 tire shredder kit installed in April. 4500 miles on it so far. Run great. No issues. I will be going down to the Tail of the Dragon in August. Looking forward to seeing how things go. Should be a good test. Don't know why everyone is so down on SE

I don't think that's it at all. SE is a proven stable build, but it's also mild if not anemic for a "build". There's better out there if performance is the goal.
