Default Tuning question

Did a search but not really anything solid came up for my question. I bought a 2004 Road King. When I took the AC cover off I found a Harley K&N stage 1 kit. I just installed some slip-ons and got an almost new Power Commander 3 from a friend of mine that I havent installed yet. Bike runs good but pops through the exhaust when I let off the gas to shift and on decel. My question is when I install the PClll does it matter if the bike had a stage 1 flash from the dealer previously? Thanks for any help.....

I doubt it will affect much. If you add 8% (8) at the 0-1750 RPM table you'll eliminate the popping during shifting you mentioned. You may be able to download free maps from the Dyna jet website.

It won't matter to the PC3 if your ecu has the stage 1 download. Some PC3 maps already take that into consideration and some don't. The description of the map should tell you if it is for stock tune ecu or stage 1 download. Try a map each way and see which runs better. The maps will (or might) get you closer to a good tune but there's no substitute for a competent dyno tuner.

Thanks for the advice. I did notice some had with ECU tune and some didnt. I'll take your advice and try both ways and see what works best, thanks.
