Battery mart has the same battery HD will sell you ( Harley charges around $180 )but at only $109 delivered to your door. Made at the same facrory in PA, by the same company that makes them for HD. So it can sit hidden out of sight under your seat just like the factory original. The only difference (other than price) is the lack of the HD branding. Was an easy choice for me.
Now I don't know if that is accurate for all Touring models but it was true for my Road King Classic.
The savings paid for a battery tender, a Kuraykn LED Voltmeter I mounted on the front handlebar and shipping on those.
Think of the big picture, and go with what works best for you.
For me, the choice was the Duracell Battery from a local Batteries Plus for about $110.00 trade in, walk in and out with it. TWO YEAR free replacement, walk in and out. Warranty good at any Batteries Plus location, they say no receipt needed ("You're in the system") but I keep my receipt with papers on the bike.
Other batteries I checked out had only a one year warranty, and what kind of hassle and time frame is expected for replacement?
Everyone's ideal may be different, look around and choose wisely.
The dealer option is not even on my radar, except as a last resort.
Oh, and when it comes time to replace it, I just run a long nylon zip tie (Non conductive) thru the battery eyelets and ****** it out. Handy way to carry it into the store too.
I bought the Mega crank from battery mart a few weeks ago works great, the site shows 410 cca but the label on the battery reads 440cca. I payed 80.95 they had a 10% off sale, you have to subscribe to them to get emails about specials. My last one was a Big crank, it lasted a little over 2 years, so I figured what the heck, I'll buy the less expensive one.
This is another one that batterymart.com sells. It isn't listed on their web site but they will send it out with a phone call to the 800 number. It is a Power Source WPX30L-LS. It is made in China but Battery mart will stand behind it and says it is a trusted manufacturer. They claim 600 cca. It spins my engine easily but I would bet the 600 cca is a bit over stated. $99.95 when I bought mine. Even if it is only 450 to 500 cca that still beats the Harley battery. Performing well so far but only about 6 months in service.
