Maybe not in a car but I'm sure you could do it on your bike. Just takes desire and a little planning. For the last 10 years I've taken off on Labor day and done a 4K to 5K ride over 10 to 12 days, usually at least 5K. Last year I rode from Northwest Washington State to Wisconsin to see the Harley museum. This year I had planned a route that would get me to hit all 48 states and DC over 18 days, just under 9K miles. However life got in the way and I have to be back home by the 15th so that trip was out for this year. Hope to do it next year. I wanted to do it this year in celebration of my 70th birthday.
Hope your ride is going good, there's 7 of us out right now only on a 3500 mile run for 12 days, today is day 4. We left SF on Tuesday, leaving Albuquerque for Santa Fe when I get up. This year were doing the Hog Rally from Santa Fe back to Calif.
We've done this every year for last 10 years, have everywhere west of the Rockies including Canada, and ONCE to Sturgis. The worst part is having to pack up everyday but still wouldn't miss it for the world. Triple digit riding sux though. Hope your trip goes well too.
