Have or do any of you use the product Race Gas? I've had problems the last two times that I have ridden, when my bike feels like it misses or spits and sputters a little around the 2300-2800 rpm range. When I ride it hard, it runs great, but going about 70mph for a period of time I will get a missing, sputtering action??? I will also get it when I come to a stop, it idles fine, then I take off through 1, 2, and 3 and I will hold it in third gear about 2700rpm and it will do the missing/sputtering thing...I will go through the rest of the gears and it will run fine? No codes, new spark plugs, and it's a 95" build...Just thinking is this product might help...Thanks!
NO Race gas will not help you. Was your 95" build tuned on race gas if not why would you think it will run better on race gas. I would look at the plugs and make sure the are the correct plugs for the bike and they are installed correct. Check your battery cables make sure they are tight. Then Report back and try to better explain what the bike is doing get it to do it and watch all the gauges etc to see if you notice anything
I agree, race gas will not cure any of your problems. Sounds more like a tune issue, you should have it run on a dyno by a qualified tech and analyzed. Could be a fuel or timing issue.
If your bike has run fine until very recently then it can run fine again soon. The cause of the problem needs to be identified and put right, which could be any one of a number of things. Did it run OK with the old plugs? If so put them back in and try them again. If it runs fine and the new plugs are the exact same spec, then throw away the new ones and buy a new pair.
I experienced similar symptoms with an older Sportster (2000) that drove me nuts. I finally found that the primary wire to the coil was not making good contact.
More Octane is not better, the right Octane for the engine is. A higher Octane rating has a slower flame front and usually requires more lead or advance on the timing. If you are tuned to unleaded, run unleaded. You are literally throwing your money out the window. Race fuel is needed for high compression engines. This is usually 11 points + in compression with so many different variables to avoid detonation.

my '02 Ultra with a 95" does this as well, code that comes up is P0261 front injector open/low. from everything I have looked up online in similar reports of missing at constant rpm everything seems to point to the wire harness to the fuel injectors. not sure if your bike is EFI but it sounds like the exact symptoms mine is displaying. I've also changed plugs with no success, and had it on a dyno to try and replicate but of course it wouldn't do it while they were testing it. but it is definitely not the tune like I had originally thought it was
I didn't see what year your bike is, but if it is a 95" engine, then I would guess that you are having the problem if it is injected ,the harness is just a tad too short to the injectors, and I have seen bikes that have the wire broken inside the shielding about 8" up the back bone. The quick fix is to pull the tank , and make a relief that can allow the wires to the injectors move freely.
