Well, I made it - retired

After 30 years of teaching science in a public high school, I'm finished. Retired on May 24th, 2007. Let the road trips begin!!!

Congrats....

On a related note. I talked to my neighbor last week. She said she was coming from a funeral home visitation. I asked her who died. She said a guy she worked with at our local high school. She said he retired on Thursday, had a dinner and reception on Thursday night, and died Friday morning at the young age of 62. Talk about getting cheated.

Man, xxxflhrci, cheated is right. What a bummer! I'm 56, so I hope I have a lot of road trips left, but I reckon when one's time is up, its up.

I feel youre pain, I'm at 29 yrs in public school employment teaching english, math, science, a couple yrs as an admin. and finally in CTE 1 more yr. hope I make it. But, if I don't it's been worth it.
