Default Tail Light

Lost the tail light on '08 FLTR. Brake light works fine. It's not the bulb. No apparent damage to wires or plug

power for the run light circuit comes up the blue wire, you can test that ( red/yel brake, black ground, brn and violet are turns) behind the tail light where it plugs into the board.

if bike is lowered, check that a bottoming out tire hasn;t eaten the wiring

test point at the plug under the seat at the front of the fender

fuse? the 15A lights fuse also has the front running lights on it

bulb? more than once it has been the bulb, there are 2 filaments and one can break and even short out on the other

welcome to the forums

Mike

I am assuming you are using your foot brake pedal. Check and see if it works when you use the hand brake lever. If so, its your brake light switch. Its located down near your exhaust below the seat area. It is installed in the brake line which runs along the frame, and is actuated by brake fluid pressure. Not hard to change out. Have to bleed rear brake after install. Ask me how I know.

Sorry, should have paid more attention to your thread. You said you have brake light, but no tail. Forget my previous post and welcome to the forum. If you cant figure it out you can bet someone here will help you solve it.
