I have posted numerous times on this possible problem. Can you raise the tire off the ground and spin it. Is it rubbing against the pads and not getting a rotation or so before stopping.
my 07 Ultra has 30K on stock rotors and no warpage or brake surge.
my 08 roadglide has 15K floating H-D rotors and very serious surge. I also get a clank when first applying the brakes. I believe I have a bad caliper on the 08 with one (or more) piston/s not fully retracting. hence the worped rotor/s and clank. although under warranty, the rotors were installed after purchase and are out of the general BS added component warranty. trying to decide if I need to take it in under warranty about the clank, or on my own determine which rotor is worped and replace my self.
Oley, got to ask how/why a four year old thread got your attention???
Same as most above, no warping on the front rotor. I would try to get them to either rebuild or replace the whole front caliper system. The only thing that I can think of is that it is not applying the same amount of pressure to both sides of the rotor. This might cause the warping. Not sure if that is the problem but I have seen this happen on cars.

EDIT: Crap, I didn't even look at the date of the orginal post.

In all my years have never had warped rotors.Have always used aftermarket pads for better braking power.Actually have used rotors off bikes that were takeoffs because were supposed to be warped.Lift the front wheel off the ground and spin it to see for yourself.
