I cut mine off and sold it on eBay no problem .

that was one of my first mods and didn’t t know too much about wiring but I do think the Instructions say cut it .

Hey Oscar I think your bike looks much better without them. Also you mentioned painting the Windsplitter brackets. I did mine a few months ago and it looks much better. I left the mount nuts chrome for a little variety.

Sanding the brackets and side stand wasn't too bad but it's a pain by hand. I used three different grits 150, 220, and 400. I posted a pic of the Windsplitter brackets for you.

Yes sir no problem. I chose a wrinkle black paint for the Windsplitter brackets and gloss black for the sidestand. I probably should have done gloss on the shield brackets but what the heck it's done and I'm happy with it.

Thank you and that's a no the Windsplitter uses different brackets and mounts which HD no longer sells separately.
