Good evening all. I have been off of the forum for awhile, but decided to make a return. After being Stage IV cancer free, I guess I needed another challenge in life (not of my choosing). I came down with COVID pneumonia after getting the shot. Anyway, I was in the hospital for 3 months and am still recovering slowly. Due to medical bills, I ended up selling my 2017 Road Glide.
Well, with the passing of time, I got the itch again and bought a 2022 RKS. I havent picked it up yet, due to waiting on parts to be delivered and installed. Below are 2 pictures when it was fresh off of the truck still on the skid. More pictures to follow when I get her home. I look forward to picking up some good information and hopefully making contributions to this thread.
Congrats on beating the beast. I'm in that alumni being stage IV in 2012-13, been clean since. I can't claim to know anything about having covid. I never got sick (knock on wood) and never got the vax. I did have double pneumonia though at age 16. Anyway excellent way to celebrate with the new scoot and nice color. Glad you are back here and back riding!
I'm not a fan of Kury either. Just liked those covers and decided to try even though they crazy priced for what they are. Harley cover with the grille wouldn't fit because of the cooling fan, my dealership said.
The Harley cover fits just fine with the cooling fan, FYI.
Is anyone running the lower vented fairings on their RKS? I like the look, but I am curious if there is a lack of air circulation that would be uncomfortable in the heat of the summer. Thanks in advance for thoughts and opinions.
I think Oscar runs a larger aftermarket fan not HD unless I'm mistaken.
Im running a thundermax fan. Kuryakyn actually stated that their cover wouldnt fit with the fan either. But it fits just fine lol. Anyways, lets see how long they last.

I love my lowers. No problem with the air flow, but they sure do block some air even with open vents. However, they help a lot on rainy/cold days and in my case carry speakers and auxiliary lights.
Hi Road King Special dudes - Just sold a Pan America (buggy electronics, couldn't trust it). Looking for a Road King Special. I have rented a regular Road King before so I know I'll like it and I love the blacked out engine, reminds me of my 2007 Night Train.
Question #1 - There are still new/unsold 2021 RKS out there - What would be a good price?
Question #2 - I'm 6'2", what fairing do I want to keep the wind off my head on the interstate? 20"?

#1) I'm sure there's a few. Figure somewhere around $22-24K new.
#2) you don't wanna throw a fairing on an Road King Special. Defeats the look of the RKS. A 20-22" Freedom Shield will block dat wind.
#30) BEST MODEL HARLEY EVER MADE! JUST BUY ONE! I'll own mine for life...or until I crash & burn!

I hope you mean 22-24K out the door. If I wanted to pay that much before tax and tag I could get a 2022. My neck can't take the wind blast anymore so a shield is must have. I don't know about for life but if its as solid and reliable as my Night Train was then at least 10 years.

It all depends on your location and who you have to work with, but with today's market good luck on getting a "deal." If a faring is a must, why aren't you looking into a SG/RG?
