I wonder if the RKS will get the new updates next year like the new tank and bags.
Was in the dealership recently and got my first look at the new tank and bags. I have to say I'm pretty indifferent to the bags but have real reservations about the tank. I wasn't a fan of the 6 gallon when it came out, so big. That along with the wider fender and tire just seemed off to me, but both grew on me in that they were at least very similar. The new tank is shaped very differently, and I think the gas cap is off the Pan America.
I understand progress, and all for it. But from about 30 feet my three HD touring bikes (2002, 2005, 2017) have looked pretty much like the 71' Electra Glide my dad had when he was a motor cop. Only picture I have of him in uniform is him on that bike in our driveway when I was a kid.
Nostalgia is what it is, and I'm hoping that within the progress they keep room for modern bikes with at least the look of what came before. And not just the year to year "revival" line.
I put the seat of a ’22 Road Glide Special on a ’24 Road King Police today, and lo and behold, that Road Glide seat looks identical to a ’24 Road King Special seat.
So I don’t feel like I committed too much of an abomination by putting a Glide seat on a King.
Just picked up this 2023 Road King Special from Falcons Fury H-D in Atlanta, GA September 30th! BTW, look into Fuellings or Drag Specialties replacement machine plug as its shorter length will give you better OIL FLOW! Theyre available for M-8s AND Twin-Cams.
My 2019 Vivid Black FLHRXS. I'm pretty happy with where she's at at the moment. I'm going to replace the saddlebag hinge covers tomorrow but after that I think I might let her be for awhile, lol. So far:
- Kraus motopro seat(rebranded Saddleman)
- 14" KST Renegade bars w/ Kuryakyn ISO grips
- Hogworkz 7" blacked out LED headlight and Custom Dynamics turn signals front/rear
- HD Visor trim ring for headlamp
- HD tribar rear fender dual purpose running/brake light
- HD flush mount fuel gauge/fill cap
- HD tinted(smoked) 14" detachable windshield(don't normally use it)
- HD branded front axle nut covers
- HD solid black shift linkage
- Chrome Dome aftermarket skull horn cover
- HD SE Stage 1 114 timer cover and insert
- Pulled off the reflectors as well as spray painted the brake caliper screens
- Mounted the stock passenger pegs as highway pegs and bought the black streamliner passenger floorboards off Amazon to replace them.
Just got the bike back from it's Stage 1 install. All Rinehart parts(Inverted air cleaner, Slimline Duals, and 4" mufflers) along with the ProStreet tune(for warranty purposes). I think that about covers everything so far.
Hi, does anyone know the size of the windscreen docking hardware acorn nut. I'm wanting to source some black ones, possibly pike nuts, but I'm in UK and we tend to use metric, so trying to source is a pain!
