I agree with you, the RKS is very versatile, it as all the qualities of the Touring chassis but you can do what you want with it according to desire of the moment...

Exactly. Someone asked me the other day why I didn't just get an ST or a Road Glide since my bike is kind of a morph between the two. I simply said with the RKS I can have them all in one form or another. And best of all when I want to be the standard RKS look (Which I also love) I can do that. None of those bikes can do that.
Had a good ride the other day with the wife. She had her insta360 on and for the first time I have seen my bike out being ridden since obviously I am always on it. lol The ST fairing isn't for everyone, but I still love it. I will be changing things up soon and pulling it off and going back to normal. It remains my favorite thing about the RKS vs the others. It can be many things visually.
Totally agree......yet it further adds to the "multiple parts disorder." I have two seats, three different windscreens, two different passenger backrests and two luggage racks!! No wrong new part, just the next one!!!
So while on my trip, during one of my morning "clean ups" before heading out, I found this odd crack on my saddlebag lids. Bag was not full, nothing pressed against from the inside so I'm guessing a rock came down on it while riding??? Odd looking crack. Hit it with some compound and it did not come out. I'll try again with a more aggressive compound and my DA polisher this week but any paint folks out there who might be able to chime in?? My bike has almost 50K hard miles on it so I'm not super upset, just found it so very odd compared to other road damage. Funny that it is on the top and towards the rear of the lid.
yeah, my bag was not even 3/4 full and the rear had soft stuff in it. It absolutely looks like a cracked windshield! I detailed the bike this week and took a DA polisher with Chemical Guys VSS swirl remover. The rest of the lid came out rad, the crack is still there and oddly enough, smooth as glass as it radiates away from the center. The guys at the detail supply shop were even stumped by it. The center does have a small divot so yeah, rock got kicked up super high and came down just right? Without a light directly on it, it is almost unnoticeable. All my bikes and cars, never seen anything like it. At 50K miles, it's no garage princess so I've decided to just live with it!
I dropped off my ST faring and went back to normal for a while. I found that the left or right phone mount hurt my OCD. So I fabricated a quick 3d file to place a mount spot centered over the lock. (I never use it). Works great and now my phone is centered, and low. Held on by the 2 screws and just got longer screws.
