Default Lowering kit?

A vertically challenged prospective buyer for my 2009 Street Glide ask me if I knew how much a lowering kit would drop my bike. I have no clue.
A couple of inches would probably be enough.

Suggestions? Part numbers?

suggest to him first to try a seat mod , I removed 2" in height and 1 1/2 in width myself and did not lose any part of the ride . also added gel pad $50 (sweet )

I had same issue with my '09. Bought a stock seat off of 2011 and dropped me down. 2011 and up have a "low" seat pan. It will say "low" on the bottom.

Last week just got it back from Mean City for narrow and lower. It helped a little more.

I would NOT do drop brackets for your shocks.

Were I selling a bike, I'm not so certain that I would marry a problem that the future owner might have...could come back to bite me. I'd tell 'em the same thing that Roussfam said...please feel free to do your research, if you think this bike's appropriate, I trade you pink slip for money!

Suggest he joins HDF, where he will get plenty of help and advice! For the low seat cshocker mentioned his local dealer may have one he can check over, possibly try out.

That's simple. Let the air out of the tires. No alterations to the seat needed.

Most kits will drop it 1 or 2 inches.
The problems that arises when you lower it.

1st is the lean angle, depends on how aggressive you are,

2nd is ground clearance, might be a speed bump or a steep drop off.

Like OP have said seats modified or bought specific seats can help to become more flat footed.

Like others said. Do the seat mod first. Alot cheaper than suspension work. Also you can talk to a boot cobbler to get thicker soles on your boots. Worse case, FBI sells a kit to lower the seat. Not cheap but works. Good luck.

I tried the Mustang low rider seat but found it pretty uncomfortable and sent it back, but I suppose that's an option. He can get riser shoes from Tallmen shoes, no handling consequences and he gets to be a couple inches taller off the bike as well .
