Default Any one lower rear on 2011 Glide

Has anyone used lowering blocks like the ones on ebay on a newer Glide or are shocks the way to go? Need about 1 1/2 - 2".

I put the LA Choppers lowering blocks on my fiancées new 2011 Street Glide. They are high quality and a very easy install. The blocks combined with her Mean city Cycles, super narrow seat mod has her about exactly where she wants to be. we may do the progressive front end lowering kit to get her another inch lower.

The blocks will lower it but they slightly change the shock angle and will affect the ride quality more than going with a shorter shock.

Anything that takes away from the shock travel will worsen the ride quality if possible change out the seat instead of lowering the bike

Thanks, since we ride 2 up about 30% of the time that makes sense.

I put the Road 6 Customs lowering kit on my bike a couple weeks ago.
Easy to install and the bike rides great.
I haven't noticed any change in ride quality or handling.
Road 6 customs gives you the option of going from 1" to 3".

Besides $40 was allot better than $500 for shocks.

We have noticed zero change in the way the bike rides with the LA Choppers lowering blocks. In fact it was such a non issue I put the same lowering blocks on my 07 Road King Classic along with the shorter Street Glide shocks. Again no change at all in the way the bike rides or handles.

I will say though that if you ride two up a lot you would probably want a stiffer rear shock as I could see the potential for it to bottom out riding two up. We don't ride two up so have never experienced this. the LA Choppers blocks are the best quality that I have seen..

From what I can tell the LAC blocks neither change the shock angle nor change the shock travel.

I lowered my 09 rg using a set of blocks from pingel. Cost me about $90. They lowered it the inch i was looking for. It does change the shock angle a small amount. I didnt notice a change in ride quality and if there was a change its totally not worth the approx $400 cost of a new pair of shocks.
